Rachel and I got a last minute order the other day from a woman who wanted 40 cupcakes, and a jungle themed cake to serve about 25. She informed the woman that we don't typically do cakes, we are more of a 'cupcake only' business. But the woman was desperate. We decided to try it out, and we loved it! Although we had to work on a lot of details for the cake and cupcakes, it was a lot of fun to do. I hand made 7 different animals from fondant (icing), had to dye it to make it the right colours...it actually took HOURS of preparation. Rachel was up at 6am this morning baking all of the cakes. But the result was worth it. We delivered our finished product this morning and the woman and birthday boy were thrilled! Saturday, January 24, 2009
Our first cake...
