I received a call today, one of those calls you don't want to have. Someone had passed away, who was pretty important in one of my dear friends lives. I paced around the house just thinking about death, how sudden it can come...you just go out and run errands, or go out with your friends, get into a car accident and your done. Your life is over. Death is one of those things that are so hard to comprehend. It takes a while for it to really sink in, you're never going to see that person smile again, or just see them at all. It sucks! You start thinking about the last time you saw the person, how you didn't tell them you love them, or didn't give them a hug, and it's so hard to just remember all the wonderful times you shared together.
Tiffany is one of my closest friends, and let me tell you, she has a lot of crappy things happen to her. Her life is always filled with drama. Just about a month ago, someone took her car (and was drinking), decided he was going to drive home, and he totalled it. She was left with nothing and got screwed from her insurance company. She did not do anything to deserve that, I guess it was just bad luck. That is just one example of something that happens to Tiff. Only to Tiff. Now she has lost someone who she had a five year relationship with, someone she shared her life with. I just don't know how much more she can handle!
Tiff, we love you, and we are here for you ANYTIME! You are stronger than you even know. You always make us laugh (even though your jokes are pretty dumb...lol), you always have a smile on your face and your are one of a kind. You're a great friend, you've touched all of our lives and we love you so much. Try and remember all the great times you had with Nick, his smile, his laugh. It's going to be a tough time for the next while, but you'll pull through it, you always do. We'll be praying for you and your family.
Live each day as if it is your last.
Rest in Peace Nick Withers

My at home 'uniform'...
I don't know if it's just me, but whenever I get home, whether it be from work, out with friends, or just running errands, I immediately change out of what I'm wearing and change into my 'at home uniform'. And let me tell you, it is pretty sick. My 'uniform' consists of some grey cotton hanes shorts, I think they're mens shorts by the way, which are so ugly and big but are SO comfy, and my favourite t-shirt, my (actually, it's Tim's) black "Jesus is my homeboy" shirt and a sports bra. Sometimes I'll switch it up and wear a tank top with a built in bra too.
I know it's a weird thing to write a blog about, but I'm just wondering if anyone else does this. Does this mean I'm letting myself go? I think it might. But it's just so comfortable! If I don't go out anywhere that day, Tim probably expects me to have my hair up, no makeup and me in my 'uniform'. I think he'd be surprised if I was ready, my hair and makeup done, and looking nice in some regular clothes. I can see how easy it is to just let yourself go, gain weight, never shave (I try to keep up on that but I guess it sometimes happens when I let my legs get a little prickly...). But when we're home all day with the kids, we're cleaning, doing laundry, preparing dinner (yeah right...lol) we want to be comfortable don't we? Or is it just me?
Do you have an at home 'uniform'?

Pet Peeves

I have a few things that drive me crazy about Tim. First off, he is an awesome husband, an unbelievable dad and such a hard worker that lives to provide for his family. He works so hard to make a better life for us, and will do anything to get to closer to his dreams. But there are definantly those couple small tasks around the house that he just does not do that drive me insane!!!
Taking out the garbage is one of them. I have actually done little 'experiments' about this one. I've left a pretty full garbage in the kitchen and gone away for a couple days, and is it there when I get home? YES...and it stinks. It is so frustrating, and I know I should just take it out, but I HATE doing it, and, isn't that the man's job?!
Leaving the bath water in the tub when Charlotte has a bath. Honestly, how hard is it to pull the plug? If you don't, you get that soap scum ring around the tub, and when I get home from work, I have to stick my hand in the cold water and pull the thing out! I hate that!
Putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Honestly, we have a dishwasher...it's not like he has to actually wash the dishes! Just stick them in! But for some reason, he likes to put them in the clean sink, even though the dishwasher is just waiting for those dirty dishes!
The other day we got into a little argument about these things. I told him that these things drive me crazy, and they're just little things that can easily be taken care of. He said that wouldn't be enough, I'll always have something to nag him about. I think he's doing a little experiment on me now, because he has been doing these things for me since our argument (I actually saw him take out the garbage, and I was so shocked I had to get a picture!). His experiment is failing though, because now, after 5 years of marriage, I don't really have much to nag him about.
So in conclusion, NAGGING WORKS! It may take time, but it does work!
A happy wife means a happy life!
Love you Tim!

An ode to Shandi

I woke up this morning feeling pretty tired, just dreading cleaning up from the party last night. I looked outside, expecting to see a huge mess in the yard, and everything was clean! I didn't even have to think "Who cleaned up all the mess?", I knew Shandi did it. She had come over, although she was probably exhausted as well, and cleaned up my mess before I even got out of bed! That is just so like her to do that, she is always thinking about others. She is the 'mother hen' as we like to call her. She always has EVERYTHING in her purse, anything you'd ever need, she is the responsible one, the sensitive one, one of the best friends I've ever had. She helps me out more than anyone could imagine, and doesn't expect anything in return. Shandi is always there for me, helping me out with Charlotte whenever she can, cleaning my house, just whatever she can do to help. My parents are always saying how helpful Shandi is, and I know that I'm really lucky to have her. She is such an amazing person, and I have to learn to show my appreciation for her a little more. Shandi is going to make such an awesome mom someday (hopefully soon!), she already is an amazing wife, way better than me! Todd really lucked out! Or maybe Tim just didn't do so good...lol.
I know I'm losing one of my best friends for a year, but I know I'll be okay because I'm lucky enough to have another one. It may be tough, and I'll miss Sarah so much, but I still have Shandi, and I know this will make us even closer. I love you Shan!
